History of Hand Analysis

Hand analysis, more commonly known as palmistry, goes back to the dawn of time, and it is truly amazing that so many hand readers from different cultures and different centuries actually agree on so many aspects of hand analysis. One of those who gave birth to modern methods was Casimir Stanislas d’Arpentigny who classified hand shapes into the now famous types of spatulate, square, elementary, conic, psychic, philosophic and mixed. The French nobleman Adrien Adolphe Desbarrolles had a mystical view of hand reading that he wrapped up with other occult ideas. He gave daily consultations in his apartment in the strangely named Rue d’Enfer (Road of Hell). He also studied graphology and phrenology and was deeply convinced that the Kabbala was the center of all wisdom and guidance for the soul, mind and body.

Another famous name in palmistry was Count Louis Hamon (1866 4936), better known as Cheiro, who studied hand analysis for over forty years, along with other occult research work. such as numerology and astrology. He taught and lectured. traveling widely in Europe and America, amazing the VIPs of his day with the accuracy of his readings.~sasha fenton
